Happy Valentine's Day

Blessings and Peace to all of my wonderful friends!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

I know that many of us are single, and that this holiday makes you want to eat chocolate until you puke, but DON'T!

Yesterday, I went to the circuit meeting worship service, and Pastor Ahlemeyer spoke very powerfully on what St. Valentine was really about, Sacrificial love. St. Valentine would do anything to preach Christ crucified and about His sacrificial love. One of my dear friends, Linds, currently posted on her xanga asking the question if "she'd ever be enough." Thankfully, our dear friend Ames refuted that.

There is not one of us who God has not called out by name, formed to perfection in His eyes, and lived a perfect sacrificial life so that we don't have to! What a great day to celebrate a love so much greater than that which a "significant other" could provide! What a great day to realize that we a loved more than the earth, more than the angels, more than the rest of God's creation! We are His, and that is worth more than anything we could ever ask for!

I got a devotion this morning for Lutheran Hour Ministry talking about I Corinthians 13:13 "But these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest among these is love." The devotion was beautiful in that it talks about WHY the greatest among these is love. I'm going to paraphrase is here, but I'm giving them credit for this knock of brillance.

Faith is necessary for this life because as it says in Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. However, when our Father calls us home through His Son, it is no longer faith that we live by because we will have seen with our own eyes the face of our Lord and Savior.

Hope will then be fulfilled. We no longer will need to hope for something that is right there in front of us! God will be there, fulfilling the hope that we will live with him forever! He's right there in our lives!

How amazing and what a blessing to know that we will no longer have to live by faith and hope, but that we will be in the ever present face of LOVE! What an amazing sacrifice Christ gave us so that we will live the most fulfilled lives!

So Happy Valentine's Day!

God's blessings to all of my friends whom I love! Know that you are in my prayers and that I love that God has put you in my life! I wouldn't want to live this side of life... and I can't wait to spend eternity serving our gracious Savior with you!
